Drifter

Jacob Fullson, a scavenger and occasional gun-for-hire, shambles through the Salt Wastes, the unrelenting sun punishing him with its fiery glow. Jacob's profession takes him to places others dare not go.

He presses on, eager to return the day's tech score; hard-to-find, highly valuable electronics. Jacob is riding a dangerous edge, and a mad thirst is beginning to rear its ugly head.

About the making of the film:
  • Shot in about 4-5 hours
  • Had a written script, but one actor was unavailable last-minute, leading to emergency story changes
  • Features additional footage filmed in Yuma, AZ at the Imperial Dunes (where the Star Wars dune scenes were filmed)
  • Flashing blue circle during nightmare was inspired by similar shots from sci-fi/post-apocalyptic horror film "Hardware"

Destination

In the year 2087, a life-hardened scavenger (Vik) follows the GPS coordinates in an old journal from before the Flare, seeking what he believes to be a lost secret that will change his life forever.

About the making of the film:
  • Shot on 16mm film on the Canon Scoopic camera (and old-school camera designed for shooting news)
  • Shot in 2 days (one weekend)
  • Took many weeks of diligent preparation to secure locations, arrange/create costumes for a large cast,  create custom props, and more.
  • Features an original score created by composer Nicolás Iaconis (hailing from Argentina)
  • All of the audio was recorded after filming (called 'Foley' sound in the film industry)
